The Academy Experience
Albuquerque Academy is a non-denominational, coeducational, independent day school for approximately 1,150 students in grades six through 12. The Academy offers students an education that is without equal in the Southwest.
Located in the Northeast Heights, the Academy’s 312-acre main campus includes the West Campus (grades 6 and 7), and the East Campus (grades 8-12).
The student to faculty ratio is 7:1, and the average class size is 12 students. More than 79% of the faculty have a master’s (or higher) degree.
The student body comprises approximately half boys and half girls, 56% are students of color, and about 24% are receiving more than $4.6 million in financial assistance. Financial assistance is based entirely on demonstrated financial need; only after students are admitted and their tuition needs assessed is financial assistance offered.
At the Academy, we foster an ethos of kindness and collaboration between students — not academic competition. We inspire and support one another. And we strive to make students of all backgrounds feel valued.
